Residential Arena

You don't often get to see some history in the making.

The scene above is of possibly the most attractive Oval you could find, especially looking from a short distance away.

The photo is of the Como Estate Oval in South Yarra in Melbourne. Australia.

You can see that the playing surface is lower than most ovals .

It means that spectators have a better view of the Oval, and sports people don't run into fences by accident - if they are chasing a ball.

When they get to the boundary of the oval, they then just run slowly uphill and then stop.

But because the playing surface is lowered, it means that very large amounts of soil have to be excavated to have this kind of landscaped Oval.

What can be done with all that soil ?

It can be used for thick mud walls internally, for the adjoining home units that will be built around similar landscaped ovals like this across various countries.

Imagine that the  buildings in the photo are adjoining terrace home units with balconies overlooking the Oval

This is what many thousands of residential Arenas will look like in the future.

The best residential / leisure Estate for most people.

Does this kind of housing development take up too much land ?

No, because the land that might have been the front and back yards of say 100 adjoining terrace homes around an arena like this - is all joined together to to make the Oval in the center of the development.

You get the same number of residents as you would if everyone was living in separate homes on 1/4 acre blocks, but it is a much nicer situation, with everyone having a view of the Oval, and the option of using the Oval for recreational purposes for themselves or their children.
